Geraldine R. Boone Dye, 97 of Blue Springs, MO, passed away, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Waterford Ladies Home in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Geraldine was born January 24, 1919 in Winigan, MO to Charles F. and Lurah F. (Harris) King. She graduated from Green City High School in 1936 and later from Chillicothe Business College. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all spending time with family. She had worked in clerical for the Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s for a number of years. She was a longtime member of the Rockwood Baptist Church. She was married to Harry N. Boone in 1939; he preceded her in death in 2004. She later married Leonard Dye for a short time before he preceded her in death. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Wanda F. Wiley and husband Gene of Blue Springs, MO and Sherri L. Marquez and husband John of Kansas City, MO; a son, Harold L. Boone and wife Joanne of Independence, MO; a brother, Fred King of Hamilton, MO; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
