Timothy “Tim,” “TC,” “Junior,” Clark Booth Jr., passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his children, on February 5, 2022 at the age of 95. He was born on January 3, 1927 in Clinton, MO, the son of Timothy Clark Booth Sr., and Edalene Delcie (Anderson) Booth. He was the eldest of three kids, with his younger brother, William, and sister, Leona.
TC attended primary school in Clinton, MO. Even from an early age, he was always working to help his family, milking cows before school and running a milk delivery route. During his childhood, he loved watching planes from the nearby Air Base in Knob Noster, MO, and spent time building model airplanes. He often told stories of how he was fortunate enough to get a bicycle from a wealthy Uncle as a child, and how he remembered not being able to wait to ride it upon arriving home. As he got older, he and his brother William got the reputation of not being a pair to bully—they stuck together and stuck up for each other.
After completing the 8th grade, TC was anxious to do his part to contribute to the Second World War, and worked with his parents to enlist in the Merchant Marines, which later became the Coast Guard during his service. Following his honorable discharge from the Coast Guard on August 15, 1945, TC returned home to Clinton, MO, only to find that he had received a draft notice while he was gone. Eager to get back to service, he grabbed a good buddy, asked, “You still wanna join the Navy?” And made his way to Kansas City to sign up for the Navy, where he served in Alaska until January 1, 1948.
After returning home from the Navy, he quickly became infatuated with a lovely Knob Noster girl from a wonderful local farm family. From the first time he saw her, he knew he needed to be with her, and the two quickly fell in love. On April 9, 1950, TC married the love of his life, Leota Embree. The two of them had three kids together, Timothy Eugene, Elizabeth (Darlene) and Deborah.
TC lived life in an inspiring way. He often thought if you wanted something, you set your mind to it, and did the thing you wanted. This is one of the many things we will deeply miss about him. He was also a man of many hobbies, spending time taking flying lessons in the 60s, and spent time with the family on the lake in one of his boats and water skiing. Music, however, was his passion. He loved Bluegrass, and artists like Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, and Jimmy Rodgers. He thought any band with steel or dobro guitars was a good band. He loved to play the steel, dobro, and acoustic guitars with friends and family, and was talented with all three instruments.
TC was preceded in death by his wife: Leota Booth; parents: Timothy Sr. And Edalene Booth, and beautiful great granddaughter Morgan Faye.
He is survived by his children: Timothy (Janet) Booth, Elizabeth Booth, Deborah (Kevin) Button; grandchildren: Jennifer Keller, Tina Imbrogno, Stephanie Norton, Amanda Booth, Joanna Schulte, Tanna Cooper; great grandchildren: Ryan, Connor, Noelle, Bradley, Keirstin, Wren, Audrie, Austin, and siblings: William (Nancy) Booth of Arizona and Leona Covey of Orrick, MO.
