Anthony John “Butch” Bootka, Sr.
Anthony Bootka, Sr., of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He was 87 years of age.
Anthony was born on July 11, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended East High School and in 1954 married his best friend and love of his life, Mary Martin, from their union came 3 children. Anthony worked as a painter in the automotive field for many years. He enjoyed spending his free time bowling , playing in horseshoe tournaments and two leagues during the week. He was an avid mall walker and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. But most of all he loved his family and doted on his grandchildren. Anthony was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
Anthony is survived by his children, Doug (Mary Louise) Bootka, Anthony “Butch” (Donna) Bootka, Jr., Chris (Mary Beth) Bootka; grandchildren, Bryan (Courtney) Bootka, April (Matt) Rector, Roxanne Bootka, Erica (Matt) Bootka-Spake; Heather Bootka, Angela Davis, Jessica Edwards; Great Grandchildren, Matt, Tyler, Andrew, Brendan, Adelyn, Vivienne, Kinsley, Brielle, Jeremiah, Emily, Ashley, Lindsay, and Kolton; great great grandchildren, Harlan, Aria, and Neveah. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Bootka; his parents, Eddie J. and Bernice S. (Wieska) Bootka; and a great granddaughter, Grace.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri 64052. Family will greet guest between the hours of 9-10am with the funeral services to begin at 10am. Anthony will be laid to rest in Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Missouri, committal will directly follow the service.
