Alfred J. Bossert, 86, of Raytown, passed away, Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Research Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the church where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Alfred was born May 29, 1919 in Kansas City, MO to Alfred J. and Lydia M. (Helff) Bossert, Sr. and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Rockhurst High School in 1935. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He had worked for Midwest Research for many years before going to work for Burns & McDonell as a systems analyst in 1974 until he retired in 1985. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he served as a lay minister, and MENSA. He enjoyed computers and photography. He was married to Phyllis J. Cashen on September 26, 1942, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 sons, Phillip J. Bossert and his wife Chao Ying of Hawaii, William E. Bossert and his wife Lois of Memphis, TN and Steven Bossert and his wife Patricia of Shawnee, KS; 2 daughters. Joan C. Bossert of Raytown, MO and Marilyn Hollar and her husband Donald of Weston, MO; a sister, Cora "Peggy� Bales of Oregon; a brother, Robert "Bob� Bossert and his wife Thelma of Independence, MO; 8 grandchildren, Noelle Bossert, Valerie Bossert, Laura Hollar, Sarah Hollar, Allen Hollar, Lian Bossert, Quintin Bossert and Zachary Bossert. Donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or to Catholic Charities Hospice.
