Viola Augusta Bourland

Viola Augusta Bourland, 93, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Rosewood Health Center. Mrs. Bourland donated her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research. Mrs. Bourland was born June 24, 1911 in Kansas City, KS to Florence Wilhelm and Etta (Berg) Oberlag. She was employed for 9 years at Rearwin Aircraft & Engines, Fairfax Airport, Kansas City, KS. She moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1944 where she served for 37 years as executive secretary to the president of Merle Norman Cosmetics. Mrs. Bourland was a lifetime member of the Community of Christ Church. Mrs. Bourland was married in 1947 to Roy Bourland, who precedes her in death. She is survived by a sister, Alice E. Oberlag of Independence, MO; qa niece Hazlet J. Edmonds of Albuquerque, NM; a nephew, Raymond H. Gann of Belton, MO; a grandniece and great-grandnephew.
