Phyllis Bowlin, 75, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Nov. 8, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be from 1-2pm Saturday,. November 12, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will follow at 2pm at the chapel. Burial will take place in Floral Hills East Cemetery. Phyllis was born on January 26, 1941 in Carrollton, MO to Glendon and Lillian (Donius) Allwood. After graduating high school she married the love of her life, and to this union 1 blessed daughter was born. Together they moved to the Independence. She was employed for 27 years at Richard’s United Super. Phyllis along with her family enjoyed country music. They traveled to Memphis, Nashville, and Pigeon Forge, TN. Many times there trip included a stop to attend the Grand Ole Opry. There they enjoyed many shows and seeing some of their favorite stars. They also enjoyed going to Branson to visit the country shows. Along with friends the attended country shows weekly. Instilling in their daughter a love of music and encouraging her to play several instruments. She will be missed greatly, but will always be in our hearts. Survivors include; her loving husband of over 56 years Billy Bowlin, daughter Sheryl Bowlin; sisters Caroline Adkins, Ina Pedersen, and Patsy O’Neal, extended family and many friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Wilmer (Tody) Allwood. Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
