After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for a little over one year Kim (Weldon) Bozich, 53, of Arlington Heights, IL, formerly of Independence, MO passed from this life on June 27, 2009. Memorial Services to celebrate Kim’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 1-3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Kim’s remains were donated to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital intern program per her request. Memorial contributions may be made to Northwestern Memorial Hospital of Chicago’s Hospice program www.nmh.org/nmh/donate/main.htm or to a hospice program of your choice. Kim was born June 13, 1956 in Weslaco, TX to Clair and Jessie (Bruch) Weldon. Her family moved to Independence during her teens. She is a graduate of William Chrisman High School and received her BA from the U of Kansas’ English Department. She continued to write poetry throughout her life. Soon after graduation Kim relocated to CA and was a resident of the Bay Area for 22 years. A life-long professional trainer, mostly for library-related software, Kim was an employee of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL the last four years. A memorial service was held for her on their campus last month. Kim is survived by her loving husband and partner of 11 years, Stephen J. Bozich; sister Dawn Beye and her husband Kirk; nephews Travis (wife Colleen) and Ryan and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Clair and Jessie Weldon.
