Mary Lou Brackenbury, 92 of Independence, MO passed away peacefully in her home after a brief stay with St. Luke's Hospice. She was born in Independence, MO, the daughter of Myrtle and David Goulder. Her husband, Robert M. Brackenbury were married November 24,1951 in West Branch, Michigan. They lived in Detroit, MI and Canoga Park, CA before settling back in Independence for the past 55 years. Mary attended Henry Ford School of Nursing in Detroit where she met and married the love of her life, Bob while he was designing cars for General Motors. Mary was proud of her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked for MCI, Research and North KC Hospital. She cherished her time with her family and loved to have people over to visit. No one will forget her kindness and compassion for others. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Betty (Goulder) Tweedie. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Bob, her brothers, Andrew (Shirley) and David (Joan), son, Robert D. (Terre), daughter, Laura O'Camb (Phil) and son, William (Deborah). She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. Cremation is planned with a graveside service to be held on Saturday, August 13th at 10:00am at Mound Grove Cemetery.
