Norma Jean Bradford

April 30, 1930 — September 23, 2021

Norma Jean Bradford, 91, my beautiful Mother, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, into her Lord and Saviors hands. Her services will be on Thursday September 30th at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery at 2:00.

She had been a member of Immanuel Baptist church since 1949. She loved going there and had many good friends there. It was also where she met her future husband, through a wonderful friendship.

She was married to James K. Bradford for 67 years. He preceded her in death, in March of 2020. They had 2 daughters, Beverly Lynn, and Cheryl Ann. Cheryl also preceded both parents in death.

Norma Jean is survived by her Daughter, Beverly Lynn Holman, Granddaughter - Jennifer Vokolek, three Great-Grandchildren: Brittany Trammell, Cody Trammell, and Shelby Trammell, and her Great-Great Grandson, Roman Kenton Trammell, as well as Nieces and Nephews.

Mom lived a long full life. She loved my Dad, and in their 67 years together, they had so many adventures! They both loved to go fishing and be at the lake. They had many camping trips, and driving to all the Shriner parades in different cities and states. My Dad rode his motorcycle in the parades. They both enjoyed all the sight seeing along the way, and stopping and enjoying local sights.

She loved her family, and was very close to immediate family, as well as all her sisters, and brothers and their families. She loved visiting with them. She was the last one of her siblings to pass, out of 12.

We had so many fun times, celebrating family birthdays, holidays, and being with all the Grandkids! That was by far her favorite thing. She was so blessed with having them so close all their lives, to watch them all grow up.

She worked 25 years for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. She retired when the KC Royals won their first World Series. She had great fun shopping for all the souvenirs that she and Dad wore. She loved watching them play. Then the Chiefs games became great family gatherings as well. Super Bowl birthday parties were a huge celebration. But her favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved Christmas decorations and turned her home into a magical place. Christmas Eve was always such a joyful evening. A family tradition ever since she had married James.

Such a long life of 91 years. She was a Wife, a Mom, Granny, Sister, and Aunt as well as good friend to those who knew her.

We will love you forever, and miss you, until our time on earth ends, but we will see you again, when we get to join you in Heaven.

I know you’re at peace Mom, and with Dad and Cheryl again, and Both of your family members who preceded you.

We love you❤️ߙalways.
