Eunice Bradshaw

Eunice (McKinnon) Bradshaw, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005. A memorial service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, November 26th in the Community Room at The Groves. (1515 W. White Oak Indep. MO) Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, Outreach International, or the Groves Endowment Fund. Eunice was born September 3, 1916 in East Jordan, MI to John and Gladys McKinnon. After high school graduation, she attended County Normal school and taught in one-room schools for three years, until meeting and marrying Clifford Bradshaw in 1938. She lived in Detroit during WW II and worked in the S.S. Kressge offices. After the War, they moved back to East Jordan, and owned and ran a grocery store for three years, and a dry goods store for four years. Eunice and Clifford moved to Independence, MO where she worked as assistant to a buyer for Sears Roebuck & Co. Catalogue. She then was a secretary for the Community of Christ World Church Headquarters, retiring in 1973. Eunice loved to knit lap robes for the hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Groves Congregation; sang in the choir; and was a member of the Groves Auxiliary and Independence Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son Dennis Bradshaw. She is survived by her daughter, Karen E. Botts and husband Francis of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Kathy Honig and husband Don of Onaga, KS, Kim Webster and husband Henry of Jupiter, FL, Keith Botts of Independence, MO; four great grandchildren.
