Darrell Bragg

September 17, 1940 — April 3, 2014

Darrell Dean Bragg, 73, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 at the chapel. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Darrell was born September 17, 1940 on a La Plata, MO farm to Ralph and Nina (Wilhite) Bragg as one of three children. He graduated from the local high school and proudly serving in the National Guard. He met and married Judy (Terry) in 1968 and together they moved to Independence and raised two children. Darrell was a carpenter and home builder by trade but also enjoyed racing cars with his friends and his son and going turkey and deer hunting. His family remembers him as friendly, loving and devoted to family; especially the “grand-doggy” Boomer. He is loved and will be missed.
Darrell is survived by his best friend and son, Doug Bragg (Julie) of Rogersville, MO; sister, Judy Nielson of Florida; brother, Donald Bragg (Judy) of Taylorville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Stacey Elizabeth Bragg, wife and parents. The family encourages contributions to the Stacey Bragg Memorial Fund c/o University of Missouri, Columbia.
