James “Corky” Breeden, 78, of Independence, MO passed away March 14, 2019. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St Independence, MO 64055 A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 pm at the chapel. James was born on August 3, 1940 in Chillicothe, MO to Robert and Marjorie (Thurlo) Breeden. After high school James went to work for General Motors where he remained for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. James loved to be outside but when forced indoors he enjoyed watching westerns, especially John Wayne. He passed on his love for hunting and fishing to his children and grandchildren. Survivors include: wife of nearly 60 years, Roberta Breeden; son Bobby Breeden and his wife Cathy; son Billy Breeden; son Terry Breeden, daughter Pam Fogliani and her husband Keith; 2nd daughter Denise Hanson; brother Lonnie Breeden; brother in law Paul Mehrhoff; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; large extended family and many friends. James is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Mehrhoff.
