Gregory Allen Bricker, 56, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away May 19, after a short battle with metastatic melanoma. A visitation will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. service on Sunday, May 22, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Greg was born September 10, 1959 in Keokuk, IA to Michael and Becky Bricker. Growing up in Kahoka, MO, Greg became an Eagle Scout in September of 1972. He graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in 1977 as Valedictorian. Greg then went on to earn his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame in 1981 and his MBA at Indiana University in 1983. Upon graduation from Indiana, Greg began his professional career at Commerce Bank in Kansas City, Missouri. On May 12, 2016 Greg celebrated his 30th year with George K Baum and Company, where he served as an investment banker and was an Executive Vice President as well as a leading producer in the firm. Greg was well admired for his knowledge, expertise, and willingness to assist school administrators, boards of education, and elected officials in addressing their needs for capital facilities as well as ongoing operating concerns. He was very adept in turning dreams into reality by sharing his wealth of knowledge into a workable plan of action with his clients who were greatly appreciative. Greg was a member and great advocate of countless non-profit organizations across the state of Missouri. He improved the lives of children all over the state of Missouri by assisting school districts in constructing and updating school facilities. He was recognized as a Friend of Education by the Missouri Association of School Administrators. Greg’s favorite pastimes included fishing, golfing, outdoor activities with his family, and supporting the St. Louis Cardinals as well as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Greg cherished his family time and especially enjoyed his vacations with his family. Greg is survived by his wife Dr. Cynthia Calbert; his daughters Nicole and Emily; his parents Michael and Becky of Kansas City, Missouri; his brother Dennis of Kahoka, Missouri; and his brother Jeff and two nieces Hannah and Hayley of Orlando, Florida.
