Ruth Briggs

Ruth Briggs, 73, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 1, 2003 at her home. A celebration of Ruth�s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, at the Summit Grove Community of Christ Church on Lee�s Summit Road. Presiding ministry by Wade L. Hankins, Sr. and Gregory P. Hankins. Ruth was born to Albert and Ruth Hankins on September 7, 1929 in Aurora, Illinois. She was a loving friend, wife, mother and grandmother. A friend to everyone and loved by all. While residing in Iowa and then California, Ruth loved spending time as a homemaker who loved children and volunteering in community theater. She is survived by her husband, Duane Briggs of Independence; son, John Briggs and his wife Cynde of Oskaloosa, IA with children, Stephanie Gordon, Shelly Briggs, Sara Briggs, Randy Briggs, Jeremy Briggs and great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Gordon and Landon Briggs; daughter, Janet Andruss and Jim Mitchell of Buckner, MO with children, Jason Briggs, Mathew Briggs, Eric Andruss and CJ Mitchell and great-grandchildren, Hayley and Caleb Briggs; daughter Julie Westhefer and husband Mike of San Jose, CA with children, Tenaj Bickham, Brandi Bickham, Buzz Bickham Jr. and Kaylie Westhefer; brother, Wade L. Hankins Sr. of Independence, MO; and numerous neices, nephews and family
