Mildred D. "Miki" Bringman, 97, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, died peacefully October 13, 2013. Miki was born August 21, 1916 in Rushville, Missouri. She received her BA Degree from NW Missouri State College and MSE Degree in English from University of Kansas. She taught High School English and Literature 40 years in the Saint Joseph, Missouri, School District. After retirement she became a Volunteer and a Substitute Teacher for the Research Medical Center. She also volunteered in various departments for Bethany Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas and Saint Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri, accumulating, in 32 years, over 20,000 hours of Volunteerism. In 1991 she was named "Outstanding Volunteer" by the Kansas City Hospital Association. Ms. Bringman’s Memberships included: Unity Temple Kansas City, Phi Lambda Theta, NEA and MSTA, life member; Natl. Council of Teachers and Natl. Council of Teachers of English. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Unity Village Rose Garden.
