Carl is survived by his wife, Stacey Brogdon; daughter, Olivia Brogdon, of Palm City, Florida; two sisters, Susan Kelley (husband, Scot) of Independence, Missouri and Peggy Francis (husband, Rick) of Liberty, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Brogdon and a sister, Donna Bass Williamson. Carl married Stacey January 30, 1993. Carl always made family a priority and was constantly mentoring people with showers of praise and advice when requested. He owned several manufacturing businesses including Brogdon Tool & Die in Blue Springs, Missouri. His work was nothing short of astounding as he could be found working countless hours to keep the doors open especially when the machine shop business took a downturn. He was always concerned for the wellbeing of his employees and their families. He felt the responsibility of providing for the families and often spent sleepless nights when things were unstable. He spoke of how the employees and families depended on him to keep the place going so they would be taken care of and did his best to make the businesses successful to that end. He had a way of offering comfort and praise in every situation. Carl had a vast amount of wisdom to share if you just asked for it. He was a respected pillar amongst his peers and in his work. He practiced what he preached. His vision was - make a plan, follow the plan, do the right thing every day, have faith, be patient, good things will happen. Words for everyone to live by. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends to places all around the world. He had the privilege of visiting Hawaii, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. He attended college at the University of Missouri - Columbia deciding after a couple of years he would learn more being immersed in the business where he excelled. Words to describe him – loving, caring, a peacemaker, counselor and confidante. He had wisdom beyond the 52 years he was with us. He, like his father, understood the value of experience and education by constantly learning and applying it to all areas of their lives. Carl participated in several MS150 bicycle rides with his Geneva, Illinois friends supporting a cause he believed in. Golfing was a favorite pastime, whether it was on the course or watching the professional matches on television, he truly loved the game. A favorite memory was playing the courses in Scotland with several close friends. When not watching golf, Carl adored spending the weekends watching football games with his girls, the more games the better. He will be best remembered as an exceptional husband and father, he loved his girls and lived for them. His goal was to grow old with his wife Stacey, of 24 years, and watch his pride and joy, Olivia, grow into the beautiful and remarkable woman he held her to be. To his credit, he will be missed by all the lives he touched. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Speaks Suburban Chapel 816-373-3600)
