Emma L. Brooks, 92, of Independence, Mo. died of natural causes in Kansas City, MO. on March 30, 2016 making her days on Earth 92 years, 8 months and 13 days.
She was born July 17, 1923 in Dix, Neb. To George and Mary (Williams) Foskett, the second of five children.
She was a member of The Church of Christ “With the Elijah Message” of Independence, Mo. She was baptized in West Plains, MO. on August 2, 1940 by Apostle L.M. Thornton and confirmed by Elder Cliff Rickard and Apostle L.M. Thornton and remained faithful up to her death.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Brooks of North Platte, Neb.; Her parents; 2 sisters: Julia Parker and Ruth Savage; one brother: Harlan Foskett.
Emma is survived by her son Donald Brooks and wife Ann of Texas; 1 brother, Warren Foskett of Raymore, MO.; 1 Grandson, Ward Brooks of California; 1 Granddaughter, Aimee Stoffregen of Texas; 1 Great Granddaughter, Caitlin Ewell,; 1 Great Grandson, Taylor Frees and his wife Ashley; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Rylan and Zane, all from Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of Christ “With the Elijah Message,” 608 Lacy Rd., Independence, MO. on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm. Officiating; by Elder Paul D. Savage.
Emma will be laid to rest in North Platte, Neb. at The Memorial Gardens next to her husband.
