Enid Brooks

Enid C. Brooks, 91, of Independence, MO, passed away January 15, 2013. A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. followed by a 1:30 p.m. service on Friday, January 18, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave.., Independence, MO. Enid was born October 7, 1921 in Springfield, Nebraska to Manley and Ethel (Hansen) Fosberg. She spent most of her life caring for her home, and also worked at Lake City Armory during the Korean War. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Brooks; daughter, Sharon Kay Brooks; and four siblings, Ivan, Irma, Twila and Eb. Enid is survived by her son, David Franklin Brooks and wife Linda of Overland Park, KS; stepdaughter, Barbara June Clubine and husband Ronald of Sibley, MO; brother, William “Bill” Fosberg of Collins, MO; two grandsons, David WT Perales of Wichita, KS and Victor Hirst of Burlington, KS; one granddaughter, Angie Evans and husband Bruce of Harrisonville, MO; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
