CAROL ANNE BROWN
Carol Brown, 67, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, October 21st 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday October 25th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO.
Carol was born May 21st 1946 in Omaha, NE to Emmett and Edna Mansell as their only child. She attended Southeast High School and UMKC. Carol worked for over 30 years as a Dental Technician, including employers Douglas Dental and Mallow Laboratories. She deeply loved her family and hosted Christmas holidays, a special annual event for every family member. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and collecting antiques, especially depression glass. Carol was a talented crafter creating special gifts for family and friends. She was a parishioner with St. Joseph the Worker for many years. She is loved and will be remembered as more than just family; she was a friend.
Carol is survived by daughter, Nancy Bender and husband Glenn of Oak Grove, MO; grandson, John Bender and wife Crystal of Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Jennifer Lutes of Independence, MO; she is known lovingly as “Abba” to her great grandchildren, Jareth Bender, Angela Lutes, and Mason Long.
