Margaret Victoria “Vicki” Brown, 71, of Grain Valley, MO passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2016. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm Monday, January 18th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Prayer Service will follow at 2:00pm at the chapel.
Vicki was born July 26, 1944 in Savannah, MO to Homer and Margaret (Elliston) Hackley. She graduated from Lafayette H.S. and attended Hillyard Vocational School where she obtained her LPN. She moved to the Kansas City are where she worked for Truman, KU, and St. Luke’s East hospitals. She married her beloved Steven Brown on March 20, 1988. She was a parishioner at St. John LaLande for numerous years. She was also treasurer for a number of years and president for a term at American Business Women’s Association in St. Joseph. Her family remembers her as funny, generous, and loving. Vicki is loved and will be missed.
Survivors include daughters, Julia Chavez of Grain Valley, MO; Sherri Jackson (Billy) of Stewartsville, MO; and Jennifer Yardley (Kevin) of Grain Valley, MO; stepmother, Elouise Hackley and sister, Christie Jo Hackley both of Camarillo, CA; grandchildren, Erica Ulmer, Ian Hitterdal, Noah Hitterdal, and Zoe Yardley; great grandsons, Zayne and Jayden Ulmer; best friend of 30 years, Wanda Burton; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss her.
