Margaret “Margie” Alma Brown, of Independence, Missouri, a family- centered woman who loved to collect angel figurines, gained angel wings of her own on September 29, 2020. She was 68 years old. Margie was born on May 25, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, to William and Juanita Campbell. She graduated from Van Horn High School in the class of 1970, and married Johnie Brown on September 14, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: John, Richard and Joseph.
She was a loving wife and mother who was quiet and reserved yet had an infectious laugh. Margie was a kind woman who valued her family and was an adorning grandmother. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Army Corps of Engineers for many years. Her family knew her as a very supportive woman, who enjoyed getting pedicures, manicures and her hair done regularly.
Margie loved traveling in her camper, with Colorado as her favorite place to visit. She was extremely proud of her marriage to Johnie and enjoyed the many years of planting flowers with him, especially yellow roses. Margie was a big sweetheart, who loved the outdoors and Mexican food and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of the home for 51 years, Johnie Ray Brown; children, John D. Brown and Joseph W. (Mandy) Brown; grandchildren, Kelsie (Dakota) Thomas, Malorie (Ellis) Walker, Colton, Anthony and Austin Brown and great-grandchildren, Kinley and Quinton Thomas. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard J. Brown and parents William James Campbell and Juanita June Campbell.
