Timothy Eugene “Tim” Brown, 63, loving husband, father, and grandfather, joined his beloved son Jeremy on Monday, December 28, 2020.
Tim was born on May 26, 1957 at the Independence Sanitarium to Max Brown, a firefighter, and Mary Margaret “Margie” Watson Brown, a homemaker. After the death of his mom in 1972, he moved to Arizona, and graduated from Paradise Valley High School in the class of 1975. He immediately went to work as an over-the-road truck driver. At the time of his retirement, his career spanned four decades. He married Rose Alvarez in Independence, MO in 1990 and became the proud dad of four children. He had a love for the road and especially enjoyed having his wife and trucking partner in the co-pilot’s seat.
Tim never met a stranger. He could – and would – talk with anyone he encountered. He took the time to learn people’s names and their stories and made friends easily. He enjoyed activities like antiquing, going to garage sales, and grocery shopping, because they were all ways for him to interact with others. He made so many good friends over the years, particularly Jeff Greer and Michael Roundtree. His other hobbies included working on cars, playing World of Warcraft, and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife Rose Brown of Independence; children Janelle Thoele of Kansas, Valarie Alvarez of Independence, Nathan Brown of the home; grandchildren Samantha Haskins, William Haskins, and Aaliyah Alvarez; siblings Ed Brown of the home, Phil Brown (wife Rosa) of Independence, and Julie Brown of Independence; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his son Jeremy, he was also preceded in death by his parents Max and Margie Brown and nephew Bryan Brown.
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
