James William "Jim� Bunt, 81, Avondale, Mo., died April 23, 2004, at his home. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to NorthCare Hospice, 2900 Clay Edwards Drive, NKC, Mo. 64116 or The Boy Scouts of America. Jim was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Independence, Mo. and graduated from Manuel High School in 1941. He worked for 19 years as a Building Inspector for the City of Kansas City, Mo., retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church, and was an active member of the Boy Scouts for many years, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He began playing the violin at the age of seven and was also a coin and stamp collector. He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. & Francis C. (Eccelston) Bunt, sister, Dorothy F. Prater, and first wife, Wilma Eugene Bunt Edington. He is survived by his wife, Nena (Mamuri) Bunt of the home; daughter, Beverly Antonopoulos; son and daughter-in-law, Donald J. and Marla Bunt; grandchildren, Michael D. Gillum, Christina M. Brooks, Melissa Ann Kubit, Sherry L. Phillips; four great-grandchildren and numerous friends, including Scott A. Phillips and the Old, Worn-out Retirees at Burger King.
