Floyd Edward Burch, 83 of Levasy, passed away Nov. 6, 2007 of congestive heart failure and pneumonia. Floyd was born on Feb. 6, 1924 to Floyd E. and Velma (Stark) Burch. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII and served on the USS California BB-44. He was a retired member of the Operating Engineers local 101 of Kansas City. He was the Chief of Police in Levasy for 38 years and was a member of the VFW 8101 and held several offices. He was also a Master Mason and a Shriner as an Endowed member of the Buckner Masonic Lodge 501. He married Dorothy (Knoche) on Jul. 14, 1942. They were married 54 years. She preceded him in death in 1995. Also preceding him in death were two brother; Arthur Leon and John R. also by two great granddaughters; Tricia Marie Hibbs and Emily Rose Cole. Floyd is survived by his two sisters Eva Dean Gunier, Carson City, NV and Donna Ruth Locke, Sacramento, CA. Two daughters Mary Flynn, Alamosa, CO and Jackie Burch of the home. Five grandchildren, David Hibbs of the home, Jason (Charlene) Cole, Oak Grove, MO, Susan (Marty) Clark, Mayview, MO, Jamie (Dee) Greeman, Alamosa, CO and Jennifer (Gary) McDonell, Cibolo, TX. Twelve great grandchildren, Alicia Clark, Larry Hibbs, Tyler Clark, Daniel Husmann, Ariel Cole, Tyler Husmann, Christina Cole, Joshua McDonell, Kirstin Clark, Jacob McDonell, Dalton Clark and Lacey Cole. Many, many family members and a “million friends”. Services will be 1:00 pm, Sat. Nov. 10, 2007 at Heart of God Fellowship, 3720 N. Buckner-Tarsney Rd, Sibley, MO. Burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 pm, Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams, Buckner, MO.
