Lily Mae (Pryor) Burch passed away peacefully at her home in Kansas City, Missouri on March 13, 2014. She was born in Boss, Missouri on May 18, 1941 to Otis George Pryor and Dorothy Mae (Denton) Pryor. Sister Lily Mae Burch graduated from Valley High in Caledonia, Missouri. In 1960, she met the love of her life, Rev. Daryl Burch, on a blind date at the Marilyn Pentecostal Church of God in St. Louis, Missouri. A year later they married on August 26, 1961 at the church where they met. They evangelized in the Southern Missouri area for a year before becoming the pastors of the West Plains Pentecostal Church of God for 5 years. While they were pastoring in West Plains they welcomed their only child, Sherry Lynn on October 27, 1965. In 1966, they became the youth directors of the Southern Missouri District for the Pentecostal Church of God for the next 10 years. In 1976, Rev. Daryl and Lily Mae Burch, became the pastors of the Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church of God in Kansas City, Missouri. There they pastored 4 generations over a 35 year period. Since their retirement in 2011, Lily has been lovingly cared for by Daryl until her passing.
Sister Lily Mae Burch is survived by her husband, Daryl Burch, of the home, her only child, Sherry Lynn Burch Hoog and Sherry’s husband Bob Hoog, 5 grandchildren, Derek Ryan, Nicholas Bradley, Meghan Raye, Michael Drew and Olivia Mae. Also, 2 great-grandchildren, Isaiah Nicholas and Noah James. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Faye Gant and Rosemary Black and 2 brothers, Jim Pryor and Otis Pryor and a multitude of family and friends.
