Raymond “Raymie” Franklin Burlison, 61, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. A service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Disciples of Christ First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, MO. Raymie was one of five children, born to Raymond and Betty (Spratt) Burlison on August 2, 1957. He was born and raised near Mt. Vernon, MO, where he attended high school. Raymie was a welder by trade and spent 30 years with KTTR in Liberty, MO. He took great pride in his work and was very good at his job. One afternoon, Raymie walked into a “Musicland” store and ran into Synthia Bolien, whom he’d known since grade school. The two started their courtship and moved to Kansas City with Cody, where they were later married, in 1993, Daughter, Shelby arrived in 1999 and here the family has spent the past 27 years. Raymie was a kind and generous man who would do anything for anyone. He was often found doing odd jobs for elder ladies and serving as the neighborhood handyman. Raymie loved helping people and working with his hands. He also enjoyed working on cars, namely his ’68 Barracuda. He was extremely talented and seemed there was nothing he couldn’t fix or build. Cody and Shelby’s tree house and Synthia’s flower wall are two particularly special projects he spent tireless hours on, making sure they were just perfect. Raymie took great pride in his house, yard and all his projects, though he was especially proud of his kids. Raymie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Synthia Burlison; son, Cody Watson and wife, Nikki; daughter, Shelby Burlison; grandchildren, Gabrielle Watson, Dominic Watson, Caiden Watson, and Cooper Watson; siblings, Lance Burlison, Suzie Burlison, Donald Burlison, and Danny Burlison; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
