Ida M. Burton, 87 passed away Friday March 4, 2022 at her home in Independence, Missouri with family by her side.
Ida was born May 25, 1934 in Lexington, Missouri to Dorsey and Bessie (Munkers) Williams. She married Frank Hunner in 1949 and they had three children. They were married 14 years. She remarried in 1964 to Edgar Burton and they remained happily married for 42 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Gwen) Hunner; Michael (Sandra) Hunner and daughter Melissia (Ron) Connell; Sister Betty Duncan; family friend Shawn Sartain; 5 grandchildren; Angie (Brian) Hunner-Davis; Michael Shane (Soni) Hunner; Mary (Eli) Guymon, Abigail (Cory) Bushnell, Susan (Dave) Jones; 17 great –grandchildren; Zachary, Brennen, Christchen, Hannah (Davis); Kelsi, Kasi (Hunner), Jacob, Joshua (Morgan), Dylan, Destini, Dalton, Devon (Bushnell); Julian (Miller); Tyler, Bryce, Haylee, Chase (Jones) and 4 great- great grandchildren; Ryatt, Landen, Beau (Davis); Liam (Keenan).
Ida was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Burton; late husband Frank Hunner; parents Dorsey and Bessie Williams; 3 brothers Walt, Bill, Herbie; 4 sisters Juanita, Jean, Alice, Ruth; and 2 great-grandchildren Khai Ray Hunner and Leslie Cheyenne Morgan.
Ida was a long time resident of Independence, Missouri where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Lexington, Missouri. She worked at Wilcox Electric for more than 30 years.
She loved to paint, read, make quilts, and crochet. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Services will be on Monday March 14, 2022 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family will accept friends from 1-2pm with service following. The burial will take place at Mount Washington Cemetery immediately after.
