Kenneth Norman Bush passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. He was born February 20, 1928 in Independence, Mo. After graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1945, he joined the Navy. He was the oldest of 4 brothers. He married Rosemary in 1953 and they had 2 sons. After 22+ years and many adventures, he retired as a Naval Chief Petty Officer. He proudly served his country during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the Navy, he returned home to Independence, Mo and then began to work for the Federal Police Force as a Supervisor. He loved to play golf with his brothers and grandsons and learned to bowl when he was a pin setter at Diamond Bowl during his high school years. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting the casinos. He made a lot of enjoyable trips to Las Vegas, some profitable and some not so much. He loved his family and extended family unconditionally. His pride and joy were his 4 grandchildren. He had a personality that never knew a stranger and brought joy to all that he met. He was a faithful member of the St. Mark Parish in Independence, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth McKenzie Bush and Myrtle Pauline Hockett; his wife Rosemary Bush and 2 sons, Michael and Donald; his brothers, Richard Bush and Bill Casper. He is survived by his wife of 9+ years, Betty Bush; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Alyssa, Benjamin and Joseph; One brother, Roy Casper(Wilma); 1 step-daughter, Jan Jordan (Larry); 2 step-sons, Eric Pearson and Mark Pearson(Sue); many nieces and nephews and other extended families. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Additional Visitation and services will be at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO, on June 9th at 10:00 AM with services following at 11:00 a.m. He will be escorted to Mt. Olivet Cemetery for burial by the Patriot Guard and the American Legion Riders where he will be honored with a full military ceremony and a 21 Gun Salute. Donations may be made to
