Gertrude Ellen Buss

Gertrude Ellen Buss, 89, of Concordia, MO, passed away May 2, 2017. A visitation will be held Thurs May 11th from 9:30-10:30am with a service at 10:30am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Burial will be Friday, May 12th at 11:00am at Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, IL. Gertrude was an active member of her women’s bible group at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, MO. She enjoyed walking and needlepoint but will be remembered by her family for her strength. Gertrude is survived by her children, Mary Self of Independence, Maxine Johnson of Leeton, MO, Marlene Burns of Salina KS, May Moore of Bennington, KS, Donald Buss of Chicago, Marsha Buss of Peoria, IL, Dawn Troxel of Hannibal, MO, as well as, many, MANY grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-child. Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin; her son, Dwayne; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
