Kennedy Hope Butrum, 38 days old, of Sugar Creek, MO passed July 14, 2013. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Graveside services will be held privately for the family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Kennedy was born June 7, 2013 in Independence, MO. She was a sweet, happy baby who will be remembered as a fighter. In the short amount of time that Kennedy was alive, she touched many lives. She is survived by her parents, Blake and Kari Butrum and her four legged siblings, Winston and Zoey; grandparents, Corey and Lisa Owen, David and Vicki Shewmaker; great grandparents, Walter and Helen Thornton, Mary Lou Rengel, Duane and Virginia Butrum; great-great grandma, Elizabeth Smiroldo; and two uncles, Colby Owen and Joseph Shewmaker. She was preceded in death by two great grandfathers, Carl Bennett and Robert Rengel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kennedy’s name.
