Lila Elaine Cady, 78 of Independence, MO passed away Thu. May 10, 2007 at Monterey Park Nursing Center. Graveside inurnment service will be 11:00 am Central Time, Fri. May 18, 2007 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near North Platte, Nebraska. Contributions are suggested to St. Luke’s Hospice, 3100 Broadway, Suite 1000, KCMO 64111. Mrs. Cady was born on Jun 8, 1928 to Roy & Macie (Hall) Fuqua in Lamar, Nebraska. She married Edward Virgel Cady on Oct. 11, 1946. They had lived in Imperial and North Platte, Nebraska until moving to Independence, MO in 1984. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and Nebraska Husker Fan. Her last trip to Nebraska was to a Husker game. She spent many years babysitting for family and friends and made a lasting impression on many children and was mom and grandma to everyone. She was a Den mother and devoted member of the Community of Christ Church and had attended congregations in Imperial and North Platte and the East Alton Congregation in Independence and served as the local and District Women’s leader for the congregations in Nebraska. Lila loved to watch the birds in her backyard and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son Jerry Cady. She is survived by two sons, Jim Cady and wife Cindy of Blue Springs, MO and Jack Cady and wife Nona of Blue Springs, MO; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Cady of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren, Tricia Brashear and husband Ron of Blue Springs, Jennifer Kennedy and husband James of Blue Springs, Megan Graham and husband Kevin of Cape Girardeau, MO, Jeff Cady of The Villages, FL, Griffith Cady of Blue Springs and Zane Cady of Blue Springs; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Brashear, Kayla Brashear, Justin Kennedy and Noah Graham.
