Stephen Hale Cain, 70 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, AR. Stephen was born June 10, 1951, in Batesville, AR to Ray and Margaret Sue (Daum) Cain and spent his early life in Arkansas before moving to the Kansas City area. He had worked as a truck driver most of his life retiring in 2018 after 13 years with Fastenal. He was an avid pool player who played tournaments regularly and was a member of BCA and APA pool leagues. He also founded the Man-Up pool league with brother Scott and lifelong friend Vernon Gibson. He also enjoyed reading, especially maps, puzzles, collecting die cast cars, was a movie fan and connoisseur of international cuisine. Survivors include 4 sons, Jonathan Cain and wife Laquisha, Joshua Cain, Nathan Cain and Jaimie Rodriguez all of Kansas City, MO; his father, Ray Cain and brother, Scott Cain both of Pleasant Grove, AR and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife Janice Cain in 2016, his mother, Sue Cain in 1992 and brothers, Larry and Randy Cain.
