Mildred Elsie Wood Calahan, 93, left this life peacefully, surrounded by love and comfort at her granddaughter�s home in Kansas City, MO on August 4, 2003. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Wednesday August 6th at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday August 7th at the chapel with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mildred was born October 22, 1909 in Independence, MO to Archie and Alice (Puckett) Wood. She was a lifetime member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She leaves behind to cherish her memory granddaughter Kelli Keedwell of Kansas City, MO, grandson Daniel R. Keedwell Jr. and wife Maureen, great-grandsons Samuel and Cole Keedwell, of Independence, MO, granddaughter Diana Ford and husband Jerry, great-grandsons Richard and Scott Ford, granddaughter Barbara Willoughby, great-granddaughter Nickie Willoughby, former daughter-in-law Wynona Ford, all of Adrian, MO, adopted grandchildren Christopher Born, Dawn Harmon, Jeff Brown and Patty Wright. She will be reunited in heaven with her only child Daniel R. Keedwell Sr., parents Archie and Alice Wood, brothers James, Arch and Earl Wood. A reception will be immediately following the graveside service at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Kansas City Hospice.
