Agnes M. Bennett Calderon, 81, Independence MO, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 am Monday, April 4, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence MO; burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 7-9:00 pm Sunday at the chapel. Mrs. Calderon was born January 3, 1924, in Albany, OK, to Harvey and Mattie (Raines) Pruitt. She graduated from the Albany High School in 1941. She had a large family and loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Calderon was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Bennett and Chuck Bennett; a grandson, Keith Bennett; great-grandson, Keith Bennett Jr.; 2 great-granddaughters Klover Lawrence and Alyssa Bennett; brother Newton Pruitt,; and sister Dorothy Pruitt. She is survived by 6 children, Betty Williams, Mary Lou Lee, Beverly Smith, Sherry Barnes, Jimmy Bennett, and Tony Bennett, all of Indpendence MO; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Columbus Pruitt and his wife Ola Faye, of Oklahoma;, and Gene Pruitt and wife Ruth, of Texas; 2 sisters, Judy Mitchell and husband York, of Oklahama, and Dovie Dodd, of Texas; and many other loving relatives and friends.
