Emery C Call, 88, Lone Jack, MO, passed away Friday, May 13th, 2016 at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17th at 10:30 am followed by the funeral at 12:00 pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, MO; burial will be at 2:30 pm at Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Windsor, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Mr. Call was born May 21st, 1927 in rural Benton County. He graduated from Leeton, MO High School. Mr. Call was a veteran who served in the army during WWII. Emery started his own auto repair business in Independence, MO in the mid 1960’s. Later he formed a partnership with his lifelong friend and after that he went into partnership with his son. In total he was in business over 35 years. Emery loved playing his guitar. He was lead guitar player in a band with his friends for many years. He also enjoyed listening to country music and attending bluegrass festivals. Emery was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend to everyone and always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lulu Call, his loving wife Mary Call, and his loving son Robert L “Larry” Call. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Donna and Richard Vincent, his grandson and wife, Robert B “Ben” and Hannah Call, his granddaughter Rebecca Vincent and grandson Richard “Rick” Vincent, his sister and brother-in-law Norma and Dwane Newman, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count.
