Fredrita "Sue" Callahan, 86, of Independence, MO, was born into eternal life at home with family June 3, 2022. A chapel gathering to honor Sue will be held on Friday, June 10, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 810 Highway O, Laurie, MO 65037. In lieu of flowers, Sue suggests memorial contributions to St Jude’s. Sue was a faithful servant of Christ whose belief was to “live one day at a time, not my will but Thine, oh Lord, be done. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; two grandsons, (David & Justin Chambers); and one great-granddaughter (Lainey Schirmer). She is survived by her brother, Richard (Dick) Kline (Helen); her half-sister, Jean Barker (Sterling); her children, Linda Moore (Frank), Teresa Chambers (David Bruce), Connie Peteete (Mike), and John Wheeler; her stepchildren, Katie DePeralta (Mark), Dan Callahan, Tim Callahan (Gaylene), and Susan Callahan; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She loved to sing & play the piano. She sang solos as early as grade school & was the Church Choir Director. Even though she wasn’t able to graduate from high school, she got her GED and then helped others to do the same. She was a member of WIC (Women In Construction). She was a fervent believer in Christ traveling all over the USA & Europe with her husband for a book ministry. She and her husband had the privilege of meeting Mother Teresa.
