Jamie Callahan, 23, passed away Monday, August 18, 2003 at MCI after a brief cardiac illness. Jamie was born on June 29, 1980 and was a life long resident of Independence, MO. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the chapel. Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Blue Elk District. He attended William Southern Elementary and Bridger Jr. High. Jamie graduated from Truman H.S. in 1998 where he lettered in Varsity Football and Wrestling. Jamie attended CMSU for three years. Jamie was employed by Sams Lawn Care of Independence for the past two years. Jamie was an Eagle Scout in Troop 228. Jamie was a "Warrior� in the Scouting "Tribe of Mic-O-Say�. Jamie spent many wonderful years at Bartle Scout Reservation. Jamie had a love for music that took him to many concerts in and outside the KC area. Jamie was born to Michael James Callahan and Sherrill Lynn Holmes Callahan on June 29, 1980. Jamie was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Harris N. Holmes and Franklin J. Callahan. Jamie is survived by his mother, Sherrill L. Callahan; his father and stepmother, Michael J. and Kathleen M. Callahan; grandmothers, Lela Holmes and Mary C. Callahan; siblings, Michael Gregory Callahan, Jennifer Elizabeth Callahan, Polly M. and husband Eric Thomas, Katherine O. Mulligan, Connor D. Callahan and Shea O. Callahan; many aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends. Jamie will be remembered by his parents as "the worlds greatest kid�.
