CHAUNCEY F. CAMBERS


Chauncey Cambers, 88, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home. A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. A service will follow at 10am at the chapel. Interment will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery.

Chauncey was born on November 9, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to Harley and Frances Cambers. After finishing high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force. Upon his return he began his career at Armco Steel, where he would work for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved being with his family. Chauncey was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and RLDS church.


He will be remembered by his wife Jean Cambers of the home; two sons Chauncey Cambers II of Independence, MO, Randy Cambers and wife Janice of Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren Kress Cambers and wife Becky, Kurt Cambers and wife Holly, Kayla Barrows and husband Chris; and 8 great-grandchildren.


The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Service League.
