Judy Ett Canada, 70, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019, surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 9-10am on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, with service to start at 10am, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Judy was born January 2, 1949 to Rollie and Aline (Bramlett) Skinner in Kansas City, MO. After high school, Judy met, and married John Canada and the pair had three children. Judy worked as a cook for the Belton School District for over 50 years and she loved it. Judy also enjoyed reading, sewing, doing crafts, gambling at the casino with daughter, Vickie, spending time with her family, shopping, especially at “Ross”, making biscuits and gravy and chocolate pies for the grandkids, and dining out. She loved Thanksgiving and cooking for her family. She was selfless, generous and loved deeply. Judy is survived by her children, Pamela Clintsman (Jeremy), Vickie Canada (Jeff Barker), and John Canada (Tanya); grandchildren, Sierra Canada, Kyle Canada, Cole Canada, and Jeremy Clintsman Jr.; and sisters, Joanie Lusby, Debra Miller, and Evelyn Slinger. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Canada; and brothers, Rollie “Junior” Skinner, Roy Skinner, and Jerry Skinner. The family wishes to invite everyone to a carry-in luncheon that will be held after the graveside services at the Eastgate Christian Church, 4010 South River, Independence, MO. They ask that you bring a covered dish or dessert to share with everyone.
