DONNA IRENE (RICE) CANDILLO
Donna Candillo, 80, of Bates City, MO passed away Friday, September 27th 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4th at Carson Speaks Chapel, Independence. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Donna was born August 29th 1933 in Appleton City, MO to Harold and Verna M. (Smith) Rice as one of nine children. She moved to the Kansas City area where she met and married Joseph “Jose” Candillo, together they raised three children before Jose’s passing on November 2nd 1979. Donna worked at percy Kent Bag Company, Wilson Sporting, as well as a home health care agent for many years before retirement. Donna was a member of the Calvary Temple Church. She enjoyed her family, cooking, and quilting and she loved animals. Donna is loved and will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughter, Anita Wilson and husband Jim of Bates City, MO; sons, Anthony Candillo of Independence, MO; and Mark Candillo of Bates City, MO; brothers, Kenneth and Johnny Rice; sisters, Joyce Kelly, Carol Sutton, and Nona Jo Rice; grandchildren, Steve Leith, Matt Leith, and Angel Wilson; great grandchildren, Jamison and Quincy Leith. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, and sister, Elizabeth A. Chaligoj; brothers, Harold Dean and Charles Rice.
