Caroline June (Lewis) Franklin passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 in Independence, Missouri. She was 85. Caroline was born to Vernon and Hazel (Shelton) in St. Joseph, Missouri on April 24, 1939.

For 18 dedicated years, Caroline served as a librarian clerk, specializing in genealogy for the Mid-Continent Public Library, where her love for books and knowledge inspired countless individuals in the community.

Caroline was known for her witty sense of humor and her lively, onery demeanor. She had a particular way about her that could both challenge and uplift those fortunate enough to be part of her life. Her family often recounted stories filled with laughter and warmth, illustrating how her spirited approach to life made gatherings not just enjoyable but memorable.

Beyond her hobbies, Caroline found fulfillment as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pioneer Jackson County Genealogy Society actively contributing to her communities with knowledge and a desire to preserve history. Additionally, she was an active participant within her church, where her strong sense of faith and commitment to service brought people together. She took great pride in decorating the church for numerous events over the years.

Above all her roles and accomplishments, Caroline held her family as her proudest achievement. To her, they were the heartbeat of her life, and she valued every moment shared with them.

She is survived by her children, Bob Franklin, Rick Franklin (Michelle), Rod Franklin and Cindy Franklin; her sister, Sharon Brooks and Brother Joe Lewis; grandchildren, Sarah Bellamy and Joe Franklin; seven great grandchildren; and, many nieces and nephews.
