Carolyn E Zink, 76, passed away on October 8, 2024. She was born on January 25, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to David and Dorothy Mathany,
Carolyn graduated from William Chrisman in 1966. She married Donald Zink on March 10, 1967 and together they had 1 daughter.
Carolyn was a loving wife and mother. She had many jobs during her life, including working at HiBoy Drive In during high school. She also worked at Southwestern Bell phone company, a doctor’s office and as a Chiropractic assistant. She delivered grocery ads, phone books and flowers. Years ago, she worked at a 4-H day camp during the summer fixing lunches and snacks for the kids.
Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Independence. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, sewing, working on crafts and doing yard work.
She was a loyal friend and she enjoyed helping people when she could. Many of her friendships were life long and she will be dearly missed.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Greenlee and husband Clay. A brother, Clinton Mathany; sister-in-law, Betty Morgan; brother-in-law, Art Zink. Many nieces and nephews as well as a lot of good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Zink; her parents, David and Dorothy Mathany; a brother, David L. Mathany and a sister, Dorothy Lou Gosney.
A visitation will be held on October 14, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 at Carson Speaks Chapel with funeral service on October 15, 2024 at 10:00. She will be laid to rest at Six Mile Church Cemetery.
