Leon Carpenter, 10 months, went home to his Heavenly Father on October 25, 2017. Leon was born December 1, 2016 to his loving parents Philip and Sophie Carpenter. Leon’s short life was nothing short of a blessing. Even in his passing his became a hero, as he became a donor.
Leon is survived by his parents Sophie and Philip; grandparents David and Heather Foose, Doug and Desiree Yancey, Cindy and Tim Carpenter; great-grandparents Deena Smith, DeeAnn Yancey, Ronald and Julie Yancey, Don and Pat Baier, Joyce Taylor, Jess and Brenda Smith; aunts and uncles Quinn Foose, Lafe Kern, Jordan Kern (Lauren), Jared Kern, Keegan Yancey, Rainer Yancey, Dylan Carpenter, Jessica Phillips (John), Tabatha Hopkins (Nick), Halee Lamkey (Chet), Joey Tate; great-aunts and uncles Matt and Megan Smith, Daniel and Kris Yancey, Donovan and Christine Yancey, Gary and Sherry Baier, Mark Baier, Teresa Loyd, Edith Smith, Floyd Rice, Robert Cobb, Dale Carpenter, Gene Carpenter, Marc and Jodie Mitchum, Robert and Sheial Wood, Clyde and Linda Dyer and Tom Thorne; and many cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Crown Pointe Church, 5950 NE Lakewood Way, Lees Summit, MO, 64064.
A graveside service will take place at 1pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Mount Washington Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
