Carol J. Carr, 73, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 24, 2014. Mass will begin at 10 am, Thursday, Oct. 30 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055; cremation. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO 64055. The family requests contributions to St. Mark’s Church Building Fund. Carol was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Belleville, IL and graduated from Notre Dame High School there. She was a member of St. Mark’s Parish for forty-eight years, was a member of the choir for over thirty years and a member of the Bell Choir. Music was a big part of her life and she played piano and gave lessons during her life. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, gardening and spending time at the family farm. She also loved to paint, was a volunteer at Lakeside Nature Center and a member of the same Bridge club for over thirty years. Carol is survived by her husband of fifty-two years John Carr, of the home; sons Steve Carr and wife Lyn, Thompson Station, TN; Michael Carr and wife Barbara, Leawood, KS; Greg Carr and wife Liz, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Robert Huber, Collinsville, IL; sister Janice McDonald, Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren Emily, Julia, Audrey, Thomas, Joe, Madeline and Kate; brother-in-law Richard Carr and wife Ava, Swansea, IL and sister-in-law Mary Lou Miller, Rockford, IL.
