Cathy Ann Carr(Emmerich) March 28, 1958- December 10, 2021
Cathy Ann Carr, 63, beloved daughter, granddaughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, niece, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend was carried home by angels on December 10, 2021, from University Health located in Kansas City, Mo. Cathy was born to parents Loren Joseph Emmerich and Laura Ann Emmerich (Cleckler) in Odessa, Mo. She has 3 brothers Randy Emmerich, Stevie Emmerich, and Kelley Brooks. They were raised in Alabama surrounded by her mother's family. Her fondest memories growing up were of her maternal grandparents, Dewey, and Ruby (Momo) Cleckler of Clanton, Alabama.
Cathy began her role of motherhood when twins, Stacie and Tracie were born followed by Timothy and then James. She moved From Alabama to Missouri to be closer to her father and his side of the family. Cathy was the most special person one could ever meet said all who knew her. She was loving, gentle, kind, completely selfless. Her very aura was a blessing. She could be relied upon to respond to any need at any time needed. She was giving, sharing, hardworking, generous, as well as trustworthy. She came through for anybody who asked for her assistance. Whether she needed it or not she would give to others before herself. That’s why her chosen occupation was caregiver, and she treated every client as family.
She loved to celebrate any occasion. She would dress up for Halloween every year. Her home was where everyone gathered to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas due to the warmth, love, hospitality always available in her home as well as the delicious meals prepared with love. She made the best Easter Baskets for as many as she could and at the Fourth of July her grills were always loaded. She was an avid reader, loved to laugh, fish, and garden, and Alabama football. Her favorite color was green and her favorite flower, lovely irises. She always found a new color of them to add every year. She loved animals and throughout years had many pets from dog's to ducks and goats. She always willingly provided sound advice, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and a hug accordingly. She loved watching old westerns and true crime documentaries. She loved every kind of music although her favorite was always country.
In December of 1992, she began her favorite role as beloved grandmother (to not only her own but many others). In total she had 13 grandchildren. She was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren with another expected early next year. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, her father, Loren J. Emmerich, mother, Laura A. Brooks, her brother Randy Emmerich, and his wife Brenda, her first husband, James Castleberry, and her significant other Steven D. Key. She leaves behind her stepmother, Velda Rae Emmerich, her sister in laws, Joan Emmerich and Rose Santoli, her brothers, Steven Emmerich and Kelley Brooks (Sabrina) of Clanton. Her children Stacie Emmerich (Michael), Tracie Emmerich, Timothy Emmerich and James Carr (Nicole) all of Independence, Mo. Her grandsons, Brandon (Alexis), Coen (Vikki), Christian (Autumn), Payton, Preston (Kameryn), Jadyn, Cameron, Kevin, Aydrien, Kendal (Becky), and Dekota as well as granddaughters, Caylin, Anna, Layla, Jamie, and Mersades as well as great grandchildren, Penelope, Knile, Cassius, Amora, Kyzir, Valencia, Ezra, Elijah, Malaya, Amari, Freya, and Deion. And multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends, including Paul Brown a dear friend. She will be thought of, loved, mourned, missed, and remembered by all who knew her. She was a bright light in a dark world that will continue to shine on this earth. She always had humorous words of wisdom. Fly with the angels Cathy and I hope you realize that you were loved very much.
The interment services will be held at Mount Washington cemetery following the funeral.
