Mayme Carriker

Mayme L. Carriker, 93, of Independence, passed away, Wednesday September 1, 2004 at Ora Lee Care Home in LaTour, MO. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., September 16, 2004 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer�s Research Association, Missouri Chapter. Mayme was born February 17, 1911 in McFarland, KS to Irvin and Agnes (Schott) Gettys. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Swinney and her husband Steve of Raytown, MO; a brother, Guy Gettys of Ava, MO; 2 sisters, Grace Hardy of Independence, MO and Mable Gettys of Ava, MO; 2 grandsons and 3 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, A. Von Carriker who died in May of 1995 and a daughter Beverly Masick in February 1995.
