Nancy Kay Carter, 79 of Raymore, MO passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Research Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until service time on Thursday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Nancy was born July 18, 1941 in Trenton, MO to Frank Leroy and Vada D. (Meighen) Johnson. She had been a longtime area resident graduating from Central High School in 1960. She had worked as a bank teller and later a loan officer for the Federal Reserve Bank and Boatman’s Bank which later became Bank of America for 37 years until she retired in 1997. She enjoyed dogs, birds and traveling and shopping for antiques with her husband. Survivors include; a daughter, Michele Sherrow and husband Ron of Wheatland, MO; a sister, Sherry Meador and husband Lenny of Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren, Shane, Trista, Amanda, Dustin and Tiffany; 9 great grandchildren, Kyle, Kaylee, Zachary, Ryan, Michael, Delaney, Gabby, Diesel and Kayleigh and her puppies, Buster, Buffy and Bizzy. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Carter in 2010, a daughter, Debbie Mosbauer in 2020 and a son, Christopher Mosbauer in 2013.
