Mary Jo Cartwright, of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022, five days before her 79th birthday. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 9th from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Vesper Hall; 400 Northwest Vesper Street Blue Springs, Missouri 64014.
Mary Jo was born on June 25, 1943 in Wichita, KS to James Edward and Ann Marie (Strand) Fleming. She leaves behind her children, Jeff (Kim) Shelton, Julie (Tim) Neyhard, and Mike Shelton; her grandchildren, James (Savannah) Shelton, Jessica Shelton, Alyson (Antonio Wright, Jr.) Johnson, and Kelly (Travis) Leech; great-grandchildren, James Jr., Jenna, Lainie, and Angelo; her brother, Quentin (Sandy) Fleming of TX; niece, Suzanne (James) Arensdorf of TX; as well as her long-time companion, Howard Watson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Brionna Paige Shelton; and great-nephew, Zackary Arensdorf.
