Melvon C. Carver

Melvon C. "Junior� Carver, 81 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Independence, MO. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Donations may be made to the Immanuel Baptist church or to the Baptist Home. Junior was born June 5, 1925 in Waynesville, MO to Melvon C. and Lena (Bates) Carver, Sr. He had worked for Armco Steel Company for 38 years from 1944 until he retired in 1982. He was married to June L. (Adams) on June 14, 1946, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, Mike Carver and his wife Sheila of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren, Dan Carver of Blue Springs, MO and Trisha Guffey and her husband Bobby of Kansas City, MO; great grandson, Gage "Cowboy� Guffey; a sister Betty Penland of Crocker, MO and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bill (Eva) Carver of Independence, MO. Junior�s favorite last words were "Glad you got to see me.�
