Rickey Cary

June 23, 1953 — July 14, 2012

Rickey Cary, 59, Independence, MO passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, peacefully and without pain at his home surrounded by his family.

Rickey was born in Carrollton, MO, the son of Robert W. and Glendale (Willis) Cary and raised in the Independence area. He graduated from Truman High School in 1972. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Rickey was employed for a number of years with the Kansas City Star. He enjoyed hunting and buying antiques. Rickey was an avid collector of baseball cards and old Kansas City A’s memorabilia.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Fern Cary; mother in law, Alberta Reilley; step daughter, Jennifer Mullikin and her husband John Talato and their son Noah Olaf Talato; brother, Mickey D. Cary; sons, Christopher Cary, and Charles Cary; grandchildren, Monique, Charles, Jr., and Cason.

A memorial visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.
